
Archaeological museum
The museum has been established in 1892 and officially open for visitors in 1908. The Archaeological museum in the capital Sofia is the oldest museum in Bulgaria. It is located in a former mosque.
The Archaeological museum together with Bulgarian Archaeological Institute are the biggest research archaeological unit in South-East Europe.
In the museum’s halls can be seen permanent and temporary exhibitions with ancient treasures, prehistoric objects, masks and a lot of medieval monuments.
